What you will need: Cute little hands and feet, lots of different coloured paints (including glitter if you like), paint brush, white paper, PVA glue, glue stick, cardboard, pipe cleaners, googly eyes and scissors.
Step 1: Paint one of your child’s hand or let them paint it themselves and make a hand print onto a piece of white paper. Use a few different colours to really make your butterfly colourful. Reapply the paint after one print and then make another so that you have two prints of the same hand in the same colours.
Step 2: Wash the first hand and then paint the child’s other hand in some more great colours that the child has chosen. Once again, make a print and then reapply the same colour paint and make another print so that you have two identical prints.
Step 4: Once the second hand is washed, choose a foot to print and a single colour paint (add glitter to this if you like). Paint the foot and print it onto a piece of white paper. It helps to have wipes on hand for this part and doing it outside is easier as it can be quite messy.
Step 5: Let the four hand prints and one foot print dry then cut them out. Also cut a piece of coloured cardboard to the desired size.
Step 6: Place the butterfly wings (hand prints) where you would like them to go and then glue them on with glue stick.
Step 7: Add your footprint to the middle and glue it on with the glue stick too.
Step 8: Add your googly eyes and glue them on with PVA glue.
Step 9: Cut a red pipe cleaner into a small mouth, bend it into a curve and glue it on with PVA glue. Cut another coloured pipe cleaner of the child’s choice into antennas and then bend them into shape as well, before gluing them on with PVA glue.
Step 10: Your beautiful Butterfly Kiss is now finished and ready to be cherished for years to come as a lasting memento of your darling precious child’s hand and foot prints. Frame it and hang it somewhere where it can brighten everyone’s day….everyday!
Happy guiding and a big butterfly kiss
